Chelsea: Well, we just wrapped up. How did you feel about the shoot today?

Figs: I had so much fun. It was like, a lot of fun to dominate you. You looked so cute. I felt very cute. What about you? What did you enjoy about the shoot?

Chelsea: Just have such a great time. I’m so glad I got to be your first scene for here. We actually knew each other before you got into porn. So when I got the message that you were wanting to work together, it was, like, such a pleasant surprise. And I just had so much fun. And you were, like, such a hot Dom. And your whole esthetic is so amazing. And, yeah, it was super, super hot to get topped by you so much.

Figs: Thank you so much. I had such a great time. You are such a good like obedient, disciplined little bottom!

Figs: I know, what a cutie. So yeah, I had a great time and I’m happy that you were my first CrashPad shoot as well.

Chelsea: Me too. It was a really full circle for me because I worked with Dylan Ryan and Courtney Trouble in my first CrashPad scene. That was my first porn scene ever. So I guess with this full circle thing, it’s really special.

Figs: Yeah, definitely. It, like, it is very special. Was there anything that you found challenging about this shoot?

Chelsea: I don’t think really necessarily challenging. I was wearing latex, so obviously I got pretty sweaty. And I feel like that just kind of like comes sometimes with doing BDSM stuff where you, like, you’re wearing a corset and everything, where it makes sense that you’re like doing a physical thing of topping someone well in like elaborate outfits, which is so fetishy and I love it, but I think that’s like the only real challenge. Other than that, it was like such a breeze. Like, you were such an amazing top and made it so easy to bottom for you.

Figs: Oh thank you. Cause you made it really easy to top. It’s like always fun when you shoot with someone who’s like, super fucking hot. It – Yeah, I, also, the only thing I really found challenging was the amount that I was sweating. I tend to find that challenging when I shoot in general. It’s the most challenging thing.
Chelsea: – It really is.

Figs: Are my eyebrows still on?

Chelsea: They are 100%. Yeah. I feel like it’s a battle because you need the room warm enough that it feels like comfortable being naked. But then you might sweat, and on the opposite side, if it’s freezing then you don’t really want to be naked.

Figs: Yeah definitely.

Chelsea: Do you have any safer sex practices that you usually use either on camera or, outside of?

Figs: So I always test before a shoot. I always ask my cast mates to test before a shoot. I use barriers when I can, and part of that is because I’m allergic to penicillin.

Chelsea: Oh, wow.

Figs: Yeah. Which is like an interesting thing when you’re, like, in sex work, like in the adult industry world. There’s a lot of STDs that can be treated with antibiotics besides penicillin, but there are a couple that can only be treated with penicillin.

Chelsea: So it’s way more serious.

Figs: Yeah, it’s definitely one of the centers of my sex practices. Yeah, yeah.

Chelsea: For me, I feel like, I’ve always found black gloves to be super hot. I used to watch Kat Von D’s show when I was a teen, and she would always have black gloves and tattooing people. I thought I was so hot then and I didn’t know why, I was like, I love that so much. And I think it makes cleanup so much easier. And it’s just like part of my fundamental life. And I really love that about, like, queer porn, that gloves, dental dams, condoms… It’s just such a normal thing. And most of my career, I’ve never really been in a situation where people are like, no, you can’t do that. Where every site I’ve been on is like, oh yeah, of course we should definitely utilize this.

Figs: Yeah. And I really like that. It keeps things safer for like people like me, who, if I for example got syphilis… (clicks tongue) That’s kind of it.

Chelsea: Yeah. That’s – I never thought about people who are allergic to penicillin. But that has to be very difficult because it really widens the range of STIs that are way more serious.

Figs: Yeah, definitely. What do you like about doing porn? Why do you continue to do it?

Chelsea: I feel like for a while it was so much about, like, representation for me to be like, there’s not trans women doing the kinds of porn I want. And so that was so much of my reason to be like, okay, if no one else is going to put trans women in this, I’ll just make that myself and like having a trans woman gangbang that never really was around before. And I was like, okay, I want to do this. And like different, like fetish stuff, especially like subbing in BDSM or I just did a Public Disgrace scene and I’ve never seen a trans woman in that. So like that was a really big thing of mine. But after like finishing all these things now I feel like it’s very much just like, I love the process of porn. I love being on set with people. I love making porn. I love hanging out with the cast and crew before and like getting this whole thing together where everyone’s collaborating and really making a piece of art. And that’s like the sexual context where you can explore your sexuality. It’s just like, truly my favorite medium. And it sounds so cheesy because I feel like so many people are like, I do porn for money, or I do porn for x reason or this, but it’s just like, truly the medium I think is like my favorite medium in the world.

Chelsea: How about you? You’re very much on the newer side.

Figs: Oh yeah, I’m definitely on the near side. This isn’t my first shoot, but this is definitely my first shoot with CrashPad. And we’re like, you know, under… we’re single digits. We’re single digits out here.

Chelsea: It’s been a few weeks, right?

Figs: Yeah, it’s been like a maybe a month and a half. Yeah. And, you know, it’s something that was so interesting when I was doing other types of sex work, like earlier in my life. It like, one) was not queer specific and two) was like, possibly like, not the most fun version of what sex work can be. And so I would watch all my gorgeous, really hot friends do super fun, hot queer creative sex work. And I’ll be like, damn, I really I missed out on that part of it. And so like, as I have been building community with other queer sex workers, other people who work in porn, it really felt like a safe time and place and a time where I was being held by a community where I could reenter the work and have it be very much what I want it to be and not really like when I was entering it with the naivete of a teenager, you know

Chelsea: -For real. And I also feel like where porn is now, where you have so many places where you can release your own stuff. The barrier to entry. If you have an iPhone, you can shoot 4K footage. Like when I first started, it was very much you had to know someone with a camera, and that’s how a lot of directors were in porn. It was just a guy who owned a camera. He’s a porn director now. And I think it’s just so much more open now where you can really build your own career on your own terms and really market yourself the way you want, where before that really wasn’t an option. I’m so glad that you’re entering this industry as a friend, and just to see you build this up, it’s going to be really, really special.

Figs: Thank you. I’m really excited. I also have been having just, like, so much fun, playing around in the creative direction of things. I have been working with some people who’ve really let me do that, and that has been so much fun to be able to shoot in art galleries where I have my art up or stuff like that has just been so fun, so healing.
