We invited sexual health educators, sex bloggers, and porn geeks to share their thoughts about episode 260, which features a new CrashPad couple, Emperatrix and Nicki Honey.
CrashPad performers script their scenes and bring their own sex acts and desires to the set, and in this scenario, the two really wanted to show how they define boundaries when negotiating a scene that depicts consensual non-consent. While check-ins happen pre-shoot, these two took it a step further to rehearse lines so their plot introduction would show it! What did our reviewers think of the episode? (Spoiler, they loved it!) This week… CrashPad Episode 260: Emperatrix and Nicki Honey.
But first… a moment to swoon over our stars

We couldn’t agree more.
"I always get sad scrolling through pages of porn trying to find people that look like me and have sex like I do. So I might as well be the one on camera!" ~ Nicki Honey pic.twitter.com/HlPoKuiBYw
— CrashPad Series (@CrashPadSeries) March 30, 2018
Why did you want to do CrashPad?
"I think of this as healing. Being able to choose to have the sex I want, and I think is super important for survivors and folx moving through reclaiming body/sexual autonomy." ~ Emperatrix pic.twitter.com/IElCTaguJ7

Representation Matters
So both @CrashPadSeries performers talk about representation in porn and that's super important to me. I grew up mixed Afro-Dominican and Polish Jew, and I rarely see folks that look like me. When I do, they're usually being fetishized in a really unsexy way. #sexedpornreviews

I crave seeing other Brujas making magic on camera. And I love that Emperatrix is a radical sex educator like myself. And that Nicki Honey actively seeks out performers that they can relate to. #sexedpornreviews

Kink with a Smile
I LOVE giggling during scenes. Crying can really get me into a deeper subspace, but laughing puts me a lighter, different headspace that makes me feel more like I'm glowing rather than sinking. #SexEdPornReviews

Functional Accessories
Seriously, look at this playfighting! They both look like they're having so much fun, and it's so hot! Not usually into collars but having Thinky Thoughts about their potential for this kind of play #SexEdPornReviews @CrashPadSeries pic.twitter.com/ArGC85KwTL

CONSENT… even when the theme is “non-consent”
Nicki and Emperatrix negotiate a consensual non-consent play ON-SCREEN. We know that folks negotiate behind the scenes, but seeing it in the flesh makes it so much more!! pic.twitter.com/VsmImZji4o
— Jess Melendez (@realtalk_jess) April 10, 2018
Seriously, knowing the difference between a “play NO” and a “real NO” is important..and super hot.
— Jess Melendez (@realtalk_jess) April 10, 2018
Watching @CrashPadSeries Episode 260: Emperatrix and Nicki Honey and already loving the pre-scene negotiation. "I really like to say 'no' and you can keep going, but if I say 'no, thank you' or 'red,' then that's a real no." #SexEdPornReviews
— Nicole G. (@nicoleguappone) April 10, 2018
Joining in on the fun with my first #sexedpornreviews with @CrashPadSeries! Look at this cute brat! Did I mention #boundary negotiations on-screen????? pic.twitter.com/yDb9ZmMdjn

I adored Emperatrix's slightly bashful yet very confident "Instead of asking 'Is this okay?' can I say 'Can you take this you little bitch?' so it seems you don't have control over the situation but you totally do?" #SexEdPornReviews @CrashPadSeries
— Pillow Princess (@PillowPrincessR) April 7, 2018
Wonderful example of checking in without changing the atmosphere #SexEdPornReviews @CrashPadSeries
— Pillow Princess (@PillowPrincessR) April 7, 2018
As a sex educator I love using porn as a visual reference for things I'm teaching about & it is nearly impossible to find representations of consent negotiations. This is simply amazing. They even go in depth about which words mean hard no, & which mean ease up.#sexedpornreviews
— Carly S. ☠ (@Makeupandsin) April 10, 2018
No isn't typically a good safe word because sometimes saying no can be part of a fun game. But only if you discuss it first! Saying no, and struggling or nearing boundaries can be intimate and fun with consent!#sexedpornreviews
— Carly S. ☠ (@Makeupandsin) April 10, 2018
The bratty bottom who fights and doesn't just give up their submission is something I don't think mainstream porn has explored a ton of. And it's a fun dynamic to watch. Sometimes the struggle is part of the fun. #sexedpornreviews
— Carly S. ☠ (@Makeupandsin) April 10, 2018
Really into both of their verbal check-ins throughout their scene. Scenes can get intense when constant physical impact is happening. Re-triggering is real.

Behind the Scenes
Do you watch CrashPad's behind the scenes videos? In our newest episode, Emperatrix and Nicki Honey discuss porn as sex education, safer sex as community care, and representation in trans porn. https://t.co/hUlLGMGCuT #SexEdPornReviews #SexualHealth #QPOC pic.twitter.com/e8Zgt29Ll8
— CrashPad Series (@CrashPadSeries) April 5, 2018
The performers' Behind the Scenes conversation was so important: doing porn as a way to assert bodily autonomy, safer sex as community protection, representing diverse bodies and different ways of having sex, etc. #SexEdPornReviews

Still Holding Each Other
The adult film industry is not immune to the fallouts of #SESTA/#FOSTA. Many performers we work with are directly impacted, fighting for rights and safety.
We encourage fans and fellow studios alike to take action. Call senator. Be an ally. Make your support known! #letussurvive pic.twitter.com/9JVnl55Xtu— CrashPad Series (@CrashPadSeries) April 11, 2018
