Dev: I think the most challenging thing was not having all the time in the world to do all the fun things. (Laughs) Honestly for me. I’m a maximalist so… I just… yeah. Love to have fun. Yeah, the bounds of time.

Dev: What was the most challenging for you?

Tender: I think…Honestly, kind of the same but I’m also going to say like just how sweaty we got.

Dev: Oh my god, yeah. I didn’t know if I should go there, but yeah.

Tender: I mean, no. That’s fine. It’s appropriate. We were doing like, playing off a workout theme.

Dev: Totally. We got hot fast.

Tender: It made sense. It fit the aesthetic.

Dev: Definitely. Definitely. (Laughs)

Dev: What are your safer sex practices and why?

Tender: Testing as regularly as I can. Although I wish there was something… more organizations for that where I’m from. Because it can be a little hard sometimes.

Dev: – access, definitely

Tender: You know, clear communication. kind of like… there’s a certain level with like, especially like… sometimes I feel like…other queer people who’ve done content, or porn, it’s kind of standard

Dev: Definitely, and sex work, definitely. We’re just on top of our shit.

Tender: It’s like, it’s always a little risky but I think just communicating. I need that level of trust, you know?

Dev: Definitely. Trust is huge.

Tender: How about you? Do you have any good safer sex practices?

Dev: Yeah, I definitely do. Just for me and my own body getting tested like every month. Sometimes. Based on the kind of sex work I do. Sometimes every two months. Sometimes every three, depending on sexual activity, really. Just clear communication about my safe for sex practices with other people. Sometimes condoms, sometimes not. When not, more communication about barriers of course. PrEP, sometimes.

Tender: Also PrEP.

Dev: On and off, but yeah, definitely. PrEP is really… great if it’s accessible.

Tender: I would throw in vaccinations, too.

Dev: And vaccinations, yeah. We can’t forget that. All the boosters and things. If you’re able to have access to them, yeah, definitely. And, yeah… trust is big. And again, being sex workers, I feel like in our industry we’re way more on top of our shit.

Tender: Yeah, you have to be.

Dev: I feel lucky. Working with people who have communication skills around that. And it just being standard. Yeah.

Tender: Good things.

Dev: So have you done porn before and if not, why did you come to do it today?

Tender: I have done it before. I have worked with CrashPadSeries before. I’ve also done content with other performers. I try to work with as many queer porn studios that can set up stuff cuz… I love doing it. I love that it’s… I love doing queer porn specifically.

Dev: Definitely.

Tender: It’s nice to have everyone on the same page. You don’t really have to put on this facade that there is in heteronormative porn, cis-normative porn

Dev: Hmmhmm.

Tender: And one thing I kind of like doing, sometimes I like to fetishize cis het porn. “Oh, those dirty cis heteros”

Dev: Definitely

Tender: It’s so distanced from your reality, it’s easy to be intrigued.

Dev: Yeah.

And how about you? Have you done porn before?

Dev: Definitely. I have. My porn journey started almost 10 years ago and I’m pretty sure every studio I’ve worked with has been queer. So yeah. It’s definitely been a side passion and hustle for me but something that I enjoy when I do do it. I like working with queer studios, and other queer people. I’d say… I’ve shot a lot of T4T porn too. And that’s what brings me the most joy ultimately.

Dev: It’s what I love. I love working with CrashPad. I’ve worked with CrashPad twice before. It’s always exciting each time and I can’t wait to come back again.

Tender: What was your favorite thing about quarantine?

Dev: Um let’s see… Get that PMA. That Positive Mental Attitude. I’d say, probably the distilling effect that it had where it kind of helped me not overwork myself as much, definitely, cuz I could be a little bit of a hustle and workaholic. So I slowed down. Focused on close friends and family. Community. And just really had more time to figure out what direction I want to go in life. Even though it’s super confusing all the time. But yeah. Just having more time for the things I enjoy and spending more quality time with the people that I care about. And trying to have fun in between all the hard moments. Yeah, definitely. And making a lot of great nature trips. For sure.

Tender: Nature!

Dev: How about you? What’s the best thing about quarantine for you?

Tender: Probably the best thing about quarantine for me, is just realizing how much of a homebody I really am.

Dev: For sure.

Tender: I honestly feel kind of like a Tolkien hobbit or something.

Dev: (laughs) Yeah

Tender: I don’t need to go out to bars or restaurants, maybe the occasional show if I’m in protective… I saw a punk band, The Circle Jerks two months ago and it was great. I was out there in my P100 jamming.

Dev: Oh definitely

Tender: Every now and then really, I’m…quarantine taught me that I’m really content in my own space. Like not having to…I used to think it might be a bit of ADHD or whatnot, or just conditioning but I used to think that I had to be out and about all the time

Dev: I feel that too. I can relate to that. It’s a lot of distractions out there.

Tender: That taught me that no, you just need to be in your home space and that’s totally fine and it was! I love it.

Dev: I can agree. I’ve been enjoying quality time in my home space. I don’t know… doing the thing that we do as gay people which is just making our homes our little mini palaces little bit.

Tender: And for my kitty cats

Dev: Definitely. Kitty palaces.

Tender: Yeah, they’re my babies.
