(intro music)
Puck: How did you enjoy the shoot today?
Ari: Oh, it was fantastic. It was great. It’s been about six months since I’ve been here with CrashPad and they’re always amazing, and this has been an amazing time. It’s great getting to… have some fun with you.
Puck: I had a good time too!
Puck: I enjoyed it. It’s been, apparently, 13 years since I’ve performed. WOW. I didn’t know it was that long. I feel young and old at the same time.
Ari: I feel like I popped a cherry.
Puck: Yeah!
Ari: Or re-cherried.
Puck: It was re… grown?
(laughs)
Puck: Uh… yeah. It feels great.
Ari: What was the most challenging part of the shoot for you?
Puck: I don’t recall any challenges besides maybe what would be cool to do next.
Ari: Right. Yeah.
Just like, I have a certain amount of time. Let me try to get this in.
Ari: We have a lot of ideas.
Yeah.
We’ll have to just do that on our own time.
All those ideas I’ll tell you. Later.
Ari: Love that.
Maybe they’ll be filmed.
Yeah. Why not.
Keep… keep in touch.
(laughs)
Yeah, agreed. I think so. We have things to do!
(Ava, off camera) Just call us.
Mmhmm
– Yeah.
Oh, we will!
(laughs)
Okay! Sounds good.
Puck: Challenge? Anything challenging?
Ari: Oh god. Oh, I think I was just trying to piggyback off of you, because it was kind of like one of those – we had a few ideas and just then deciding in a certain amount of time what we wanted to do. And also I just get distracted.
Puck: Yeah.
Ari: and so I was like wait, we need to do more. But also I’m just like…
Puck: – Weeee!
Ari: … in it.
(laughs)
Yeah. I feel that!
I love it. That was fantastic.
Ari: What are your safer sex practices?
Puck: I just ask a lot of questions, usually I have… I don’t use as many dams as I used to, but I do when somebody has informed me that they have something going on and I’m thankfully pretty skilled in using barrels… barrels!? BARRIER things …barry the barrier… I like using a lot of lube behind the barrier, if that makes sense
Ari: I’ve heard that’s what works.
Puck: Yeah, all the lube underneath, and then put the thing on. and then go to town
Ari: Love that.
Puck: and I … I guess that’s all that I do is that I ask questions and use barriers. I have sex usually with folks that have anatomy similar to mine. So… yeah. It’s pretty simple, I guess.
Ari: Yeah, no. I feel that. I don’t use a lot of barriers often, but, I feel like it’s the conversation thing. You know? I just try to talk to everyone about what their sitch is. And see how they’re feeling about things and use them if anyone wants to, you know. Pretty much, I’m like, “I don’t mind! Either way. Let’s go!” You know what I mean? But honestly I think getting tested and having those conversations is the biggest thing for me.
Puck: I get tested pretty regularly, although I was at a three year sabbatical of not having any kind of sex. Personally, it’s been a while. And now I’ve started up again so I’ll be testing regularly.
Ari: Yeah. It’s all about just knowing. Knowing yourself. Know yourself, know your body! And we’re good to go! I love that tattoo, I noticed that earlier.
Puck: Thanks! It’s from the Apollo shield. The shield of Apollo. It’s Greek mythology. We can talk about that on our own time. (laughs)
Puck: You’ve done porn before?
Ari: Yeah.(chuckles)
Puck: Why do you continue?
Ari: Yeah… I… I love sex. I think I love sex. I think I love sex. I’m a Leo. I like being seen. So those two things go really, really well together. I love being seen!
Puck: Yeah. That makes total sense. I love Leos for that.
Ari: Yeah, no. It’s just so fun. And then also you get to know all these other people AND THEIR BODIES and what THEY’RE feeling and how they feel about that. It’s a very quick and interesting way of getting to know someone on a pretty deep level that I think a lot of people don’t get the opportunity to do. Which is very fun.
Puck: Body language, yeah.
Ari: Getting deep real fast. And like, what do you like? Yeaaaaaaah
Puck: All my tattoos say everything about me.
Ari: Are relevant to the conversation!
Puck: I like to go deep right away. Yeah. What’s that… exhibitionist? You’re an exhibitionist?
Ari: Yeah a little bit. Just a skosh. Honestly, it’s only fun if there’s a crowd. Not really. It’s funner, though.
Puck: It’s… yeah. I – I am in the same… I feel the same as you. I like getting to know people super deeply that way. It’s a way to connect. I long for connection, like we all do. I also love performing. It kind of separates from my ‘real’ life verses ‘look at me’ life so they don’t touch on each other and become too ‘look at me’ in my relationships, yeah. If that makes sense? So I can separate and compartmentalize things.
Ari: And it’s a good outlet for that.
Puck: so it’s an art form, but also educational. again, it’s been a while since I’ve performed in porn
Ari: What made you come back now? That’s actually a good balance to that question.
Puck: I want to start performing again. I want to utilize my skills again. I was in… I had a certain thought process before that was kind of stopping me from seeing this as a viable, sustainable thing for me. it was complicated why I stopped and personal and complicated, which I won’t go into now that I’m seeing myself in a different way. I’m very single and wanting to explore all types of things again. revisiting a lot of stuff that I left and that’s really refreshing. cause I’m also an exhibitionist. I like being in front of cameras and behind cameras, and all over cameras. So… that’s why
Ari: Absolutely. I love that.
Puck: What was your favorite part about quarantine?
Ari: That’s a really tough question.
Puck: Yeah, get deeper.
Ari: So… One, I did a bunch of dumb creative little hobbies. Which was very cute.
Puck: Oh that’s great!
Ari: For a very short-lived amount of time. Which was great. That was cute. But also, I lived in LA and I moved there three weeks before lockdown happened. And I have to say, living in LA when no one else lives in LA is the best time to live in LA.
Puck: Wow, yeah.
Ari: That was magic. That was great. I fell in love with it. And then everyone came back, and I was like, Oh… But it was amazing! I loved every part of that. Quarantine in LA, being able to walk around, and drive with no traffic. And have this beautiful, LA as this weird… Obviously we’re all sad and it’s complicated but in hindsight there was a utopian quietness to this beautiful place that was really special, actually. In hindsight, I really appreciate that. Now looking back, I really appreciate that opportunity.
Puck: Mm.. That’s cool.
Ari: What about you?
Puck: I got to learn myself a lot. I was single…freshly single during the first initial lockdown. there’s two ways this could go. I could become utterly depressed and go into all my shadow spirals, or I could figure myself out. Really get to know myself more. And I thankfully was living with some folks that were more community-minded and we really helped each other out. it was challenging but my favorite part was just getting to know myself more. and having the openness of nothing else touching me, can’t go to work. can’t do anything, just have to do my art. thankfully in our backyard there was this arial, acrobatic set up. so I was able to play around outside. but I didn’t have as hard of a time as some people I know. I was just able to be in a bubble
Ari: back to yourself kind of thing
Puck: Yeah.
Ari: That’s awesome
Puck: So it was helpful. Psychologically. Actually.
Ari: Blessings in disguise.
Ari: It’s great to work with you all again
Puck: Yeah
Ari: It’s been fantastic. Every time someone asks me about working with CrashPad. I’m always like, well – obviously if they’re trans or queer – I’m like, they’re the best! You’re gonna love it. It’s gonna be the best case scenario for the whole thing. Yep, it’s great. It’s good to be back.
Puck: Same, what you said. I haven’t performed… I haven’t done a lot of performing with all types of other porn. I’ve only done queer porn, that’s produced by queer folks, so I don’t know what that other part looks like
Ari: It’s DIFFERENT.
Puck: I’m definitely grateful.
Ari: This is a novely, wonderfully…
Puck: Yeah, I can imagine how beautiful. Cause queers, we do… we have different attention to detail.
Ari: shooting porn with only queer and trans/non-binary people in the room is a very unique experience. it’s very nice. It’s very special
Puck: it’s very comfortable
Ari: yeah, it’s very special.
Puck: it’s very cool. It’s like I’m performing like, “Yay we’re all hanging out, friends in the locker room.”
Ari: AND everyone sees you and respects you, and isn’t like “hey can you tone something down…” You know what I mean? It’s like we’re all here and in support of each other.
Puck: And you can use your own creativity, verses like, “We want to see gaping buttholes, now. Do it.”
Ari: “Gape your ass, or you don’t get paid.”
Puck: Yup!
