(Intro music)
Puppy: How did you enjoy the shoot today?
Izel: I had a lot of fun. I really tried to come into it without like, any expectations. Or, you know… anything like that cause it’s been a while since we’ve done anything for anybody else so, um I really wanted to just come in and have, like, the experience again and everything. I don’t know, there was almost like a sense of like, uh… going back to the ‘before times’ and everything for me.
Puppy: Yeah
Izel: You know? So, I think that’s what I was feeling. Yeah. How about you?
Puppy: What did I like, about the shoot? I liked everything about it. I thought it was – it flowed really easily. You know, similar, like not having expectations, just like… Yeah, just kind of like, flowing with the energy of it all.
Izel: Yeah
Puppy: It was really nice
(Shine Louise Houston, off set): The next question is: “What did you find challenging about the shoot?”
Puppy: What did you find challenging about the shoot?
Izel: Um…I think…I don’t know, I think for me, it’s um… it’s kind of like the delineation between my two spaces and everything that’s what I was experiencing which, I just haven’t had that feeling in a while…
Puppy: Mhmm
Izel: So…um… That’s kind of something that I’m like still processing, I guess. How about you? Did you find it challenging?
Puppy: Um, I think for me it’s always like trying to stay present, you know? Trying to stay present, I’ve been getting better at it. And also, like, being present in my multiplicities, blending, sex, kink, and my spirituality. That’s something I’m still moving through and I feel I’m always going to evolve with. Um, so I don’t think it was necessarily a ‘challenge’ but I think it’s something that I’m evolving in, you know.
(Shine Louise Houston, off set) Um, can you ask each other: “What are your safer sex practices and why?”
Izel: What are your safer sex practices and why?
Puppy: I think always, first and foremost are enthusiastic consent is always like a must and especially with quarantine, like you and I, we’ve been sleeping together in our pod that’s a part of our safer sex practices currently always enthusiastic consent making sure the other person is comfortable. Um, yeah. And, using barriers and different types of protection that people want to use, too. Yeah, um…
Izel: I feel like my safer sex practices are similar, for sure. I… I also really like to be super transparent about what’s going to happen, you know, talk about the mutually agreed upon practices with whoever. But yeah, we’ve been together, you know, so… It’s been um, an easier practice, than it has been before.
Puppy: And I think another safer sex practice that I would say you and I practice is we have fun at the same time, so it’s not like this very serious endeavor like we allow that, the energy and the mood of it to flow. And in that way, it’s healing.
Both: Yeah
Izel: And checking in.
Puppy: And checking in, yeah.
Izel: Like, continuously.
(Shine Louise Houston, off set) Excellent. Um, Next question: “Why do you continue to do porn?”
Izel: (Big inhale) Why do you continue to do porn?
Puppy: I think for me, like the motivation behind doing porn has definitely evolved. I think at first it was more around like, I’m in a bind and it’s something to like, make extra coin, and I think it’s also evolved into a space where like I’m also empowering myself and other folks who look like me and practice different types of things, that I may practice and bringing it into one amalgamation, you know. Um, and I do that so that others like me, others different than me can see that there’s so many opportunities for queer sex and queer healing and queer kink and how all of those and mush together.
Izel: I think I… keep doing this I think, like it started initially because I wanted the experience and everything and I think I keep doing it because it really, like, I enjoy it. It brings me pleasure and I like enjoy the notion of people being voyeurs and I… I think it’s also really cool to do it in the pandemic. We get to be on the forefront of what queer sex is going to be in a post-pandemic world, and everything… I don’t know, it’s historic. And I like my kink and my fun to be historic.
Puppy: And we also like to be watched. (Laughs)
Izel: Yeah, voyeurism is sweet as well.
(Shine Louise Houston off set) Awesome, bonus question: “What has been the best thing about quarantine?”
Puppy: What has been the best thing about quarantine?
Izel: Um… What has been the best thing about quarantine? I think the best thing about quarantine has been the time I’ve gotten to spend with myself and with the people that I’ve chosen to be close to. I think it’s really helped me prioritize the things that I enjoy in life. And what I want to experience or what I don’t want to experience. It’s been a lot of that for me. Choosing what is. How about you? What has been the best thing about quarantine for you?
Puppy: Um, I think for me, the best thing about quarantine has been… I’m really creating with my hands Like, I’ve been making things, and like, just really harnessing that beautiful self-reliant power
of being able to manifest with my hands. Yeah, really just like, making stuff, making art, doing thing that will keep me sane during quarantine, and also like… there’s a lot more time to masturbate, too. (Laughs) Figuring out what works for me and keeps me sane has been a lot things and I’m really humbled to know that about myself now.
Izel: Good
(Shine Louise Houston, off set.): Excellent. Thank you!
All: Thank you! Thank you so much! Yay! (Laughs)
