LILAH: How did you enjoy the shoot today?

NIKKI: um, I had a really good time. . um, it was really fun fucking you.. and I was really excited because I’ve gotten to like, you know, feel up all over your body and stuff lots of times, but haven’t really gotten to like be really intense and like, go at it you know? ..so that was fun, I had fun. How did you enjoy it?

LILAH: um, yeah I thought it was really good, I feel like I don’t um.. like.. I don’t know, that I don’t sub that much I guess, or bottom that much.. um, and so that was kind of cool.

NIKKI: You were kind of like topping for the bottom, it wasn’t totally like..

LILAH: You think so?

NIKKI: A little bit, yes. I mean somewhat, for sure.

NIKKI: Not completely just a bit, but that’s fine..

NIKKI: So what did you, did you find anything challenging about the shoot today?

LILAH: um, I feel like.. I feel like as opposed to doing um, like more traditional, I guess would be an okay word to use, um porn where you’re kind of like worried about what, um what is like visible or something like that, which I personally find really distracting..

NIKKI: Yeah.

LILAH: ..even when, you know even in certain photos or you know doing still sets or whatever it’s like you become really aware of what the focal points are and I’m kind of into like doing away with that or something or just like making that not, um the entire sort of point of..

NIKKI: Right, because you can’t really get that into it if you’re worried about that..

LILAH: Right, well yeah.

NIKKI: ..there’s a point at which it like, you can’t.. which was what was really different about this for me than other porn, was I wasn’t worrying about all that.

LILAH: Yeah.

NIKKI: But what was challenging about this shoot?

LILAH: Oh what was challenging about this shoot? What was challenging about it is like when you do do that, like when you are negotiating angles and stuff like that you have this idea of what it looks like, and so with this there was like, it was like I didn’t.. I wasn’t worried about making those physical negotiations but at the same time I had no idea what it looked like and so..

NIKKI: Did you worry a little bit?

LILAH: Yeah like in the back of my mind I was like, does this look good? like I don’t know what.. you know?

NIKKI: Totally.

LILAH: It’s like I think that if I’m having fun or it feels good that it’s going to look really good but that’s not always true, I don’t know so..

NIKKI: Yeah I caught myself a few times like I was like okay, you know because I’ve done so much porn, I was like okay I have to like really like not worry about the camera angles and where the cameras at, and also being a photographer obviously I like think about stuff like that, so I had to catch myself a few times, I would pull back my arm or like do something, I would be like, no, I’m just not.. I need to not worry about that this time, you know? which was, yeah a relief actually to not be worrying about that stuff. But it was a little bit of a challenge to make myself to not worry about it.

LILAH: Yeah, totally.

LILAH: Why do you do porn?

NIKKI: Well, I do porn because it’s my career, um it’s my job but also it’s my job that I love doing. Doing shoots like this are like really amazing and special but I even like the other stuff that I do that’s more mainstream, more like hairy fetish niche stuff um because sexuality’s fun and taking pictures of pretty girls is fun and um, yeah I just like it. Yeah, why do you do porn?

LILAH: That’s a really hard question actually. um.. yeah I don’t know, I mean I feel like, I feel like it wouldn’t be necessarily like right for me to say that it.. um makes me feel different or something like that. It doesn’t really like make me feel different from other kinds of sex. um, I mean there’s always like this sort of like um voyeuristic angle which like if you’re into it is like really hot or whatever but I don’t feel like it’s..

NIKKI: Like being an exhibitionist, like being watched?

LILAH: Yeah being watched or.. yeah watching or whatever but um, yeah but I feel like yeah.. I don’t know if it’s.. I don’t know if there’s anything like existential that it like does for me but I feel like it sometimes um, tells me things about um, the way in which like sex.. like when little nuances come up that you’re like unexpecting because it seems to me like, that you’re not expecting, like when um.. I don’t know like with fetish or with bdsm or whatever it’s like everything is like so codified and like you can sort of like move different players into you know, certain roles and genres like really easily and all of the signifiers are like super obvious, and so I’m always interested in like the minutia when like something happens and you don’t know..

NIKKI: That isn’t like so prescribed in your brain like..

LILAH: Well just like you don’t know where to put it or you don’t know like what it’s doing for you because it’s not even legible. But it like.. I mean it does something to you obviously, but it can’t.. like the registration of that thing is like difficult or something. That’s like what I’m really into.

NIKKI: Yeah, like sort of like being surprised by things and like..

LILAH: Yeah. yeah yeah yeah, being surprised by things, and like sometimes I feel like taking… like porn has this ability to take you out of um.. what you know, what would be a sort of like, cool to the end or daily sort of sexual situation, no matter like how kinky you are like whatever. But it like removes you from that enough to where there’s like this self-reflexive possibility for thinking.. just like thinking sex maybe so, I don’t know I think that’s interesting.

NIKKI: Yeah.

LILAH: Yeah. Yeah.
