IONA: So Beretta, we finally got to play with each other after a long wait..

IONA: ..what was your favorite part?

BERETTA: Um, oh come on now.. the double fisting..

IONA: you just have to be conscious like do I need to put my leg up and down, are they getting the penetration..

BERETTA: So what are some of the reasons why you’re continuing to do porn?

IONA: um my story’s kind of like a fairytale story, like when I started porn it was like I didn’t have any money, I was in a really bad situation, terrible relationship, then I started doing it and it kind of opened up a whole new world of possibility for me. I had all these supportive friends who were kinky and different and like taught me like, how great it was to be different. And like taking that experience and also having so much fun like meeting people like you. Like it’s really changed my life, I’m probably like the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life and I really contribute most of that to doing porn. It was kind of like the kickstart into like my happiness.

BERETTA: Wow, that’s really powerful.

IONA: Yeah, so it’s definitely really great, empowering thing for me and like I’ve never been as confidant and this strong feminine person as I am now.

BERETTA: Yeah, because you do strike me as being you know, very introverted and quiet..

IONA: It has definitely made me a lot more social. It’s been.. it’s like therapy but different.

BERETTA: You feel like it’s kind of brought you out of your shell?

IONA: Oh definitely..

BERETTA: That’s great.

IONA: ..it’s like, before I started doing porn I didn’t really know like how attractive I was.. I was really kept down by a lot of people.. I just opened up like I actually am a beautiful wonderful person and there’s people who appreciate that.

BERETTA: Oh my god yes, you’re gorgeous.. don’t hide this from the world.

IONA: And then I get to meet people like you, I was like, fuck my life is awesome.

BERETTA: That’s great, thank you.

IONA: What about you lady?

BERETTA: So for me, it’s something I thought about doing for a long time and you know, there was a partner that I was with that had just always kind of fantasized about it but when it actually came down to.. when I started to express an interest and wanting to do it, quickly became very negative about it; it was very clear that it was just a fantasy and that, you know anything more than that was not acceptable. And you know, we ended up parting ways anyhow, and it was something that I finally had given myself permission to do. It was.. you know and I was curious how.. you know it started out with curiosity. I’m in a totally different profession, different life going on and this is just something that’s kind of like, it’s the icing on the cake of my life because it’s everything that I thought it would be and more. You know I was really nervous that I wasn’t going to like it, there were all these repercussions, there’s all this judgment.. you know, there’s so many things that you know, it’s.. there’s just so many layers to working in adult film and all of its, you know, particulars, so it was really, I don’t know, just really empowering and just kind of affirmed so many of the things that I wanted and.. my only question is, why did I wait so long?

IONA: I know, we need more of you.

BERETTA: oh thank you.

IONA: I’m so glad it’s been such a positive experience for you too.

BERETTA: Yeah, it really has so.. I mean I have wonderful people in my life, I’ve gotten to work with some fantastic directors, and really glad I got to come here today.

IONA: Yeah, me too.

BERETTA: yeahh, so it’s been a nice network. You know, I feel like it’s a community of folks that take care of each other.

IONA: Yeah, that’s why I really like sharing stories like mine and yours because so many people have this negative view of the industry but like look at how much positive influence it has on both of our lives..

BERETTA: yeah..

IONA: ..it’s so great to share that.

BERETTA: I know people have asked before you know would you ever give up what you’re doing to do this completely. And I don’t think so and it’s not for reasons of, you know oh well, you know I like one more than the other.. I just feel like this is.. this is fun and I’ll keep doing it as long as it’s fun for me.

IONA: Yeah exactly, and that’s the way it should be.

BERETTA: Yeah absolutely. Um I think I just wanted to add one more thing and that, you know I just felt like.. I don’t think it just has to do with like our synergy on camera, I really like that we were able to bring the bdsm element into our scene.. you know, it’s something that, you know we’re familiar with it because we work in that element outside of here, yeah so often, and it was just really nice that it was just effortless.. it just came in and.. I really hope that translates you know, that it comes across and that people that aren’t particularly into it, you know they see it and are able embrace it a little more, so..

IONA: And it’s also like, usually like when I’m performing bdsm I feel so much pressure, but this was so natural like I did as much as I wanted and then we moved on.

BERETTA: Exactly.

IONA: And then we just definitely fulfilled all the needs.. I felt really good about the shoot, I did everything I wanted to do.
