Sinn Sage: What did you enjoy about the shoot today?
Joey Minx: (chuckles) I enjoyed kind of everything about the shoot today! Um… I think you fisting me was really hot and, like, turning me over and, like, punch-fucking me from behind.
Sinn Sage: (grins) Yeah….
Joey Minx: Um… and, yeah, I liked how rough you were with me. That was really good. What did you enjoy about the shoot today?
Sinn Sage: (laughs) Um, I would say I definitely enjoyed working with you, because I’ve never met you or worked with you before, so—
Joey Minx: Yeah, you too.
Sinn Sage: —so, really liked that.
Joey Minx: (nods) Mm-hm.
Sinn Sage: Um. Yeah, it’s been a while since I was able to work with a new lady—um, ah, person— Sorry. (grins)
Joey Minx: (laughs)
Sinn Sage: And it’s, uh… I really like that, I really appreciate that.
Joey Minx: Yeah.
Sinn Sage: Meeting someone for the first time and discovering, like, the chemistry that you have with that person.
Joey Minx: Mm-hm.
Sinn Sage: And I think that we totally discovered, and it was great.
Joey Minx: Yeah!
Sinn Sage: I also enjoyed the fisting, just like— Definitely not something I do very often.
Joey Minx: Mm-hm?
Sinn Sage: I’d say like it’s… once every few years or something that I meet someone that’s into that… (grins)
Joey Minx: (chuckles)
Sinn Sage: But just the feeling and the sensation and, like… it’s so… like… “ohhh… whaaat?”, it’s… it’s just really exciting. (grins) I like that. A lot.
Joey Minx: Yeah, it was great.
(cut)
Sinn Sage: What was challenging about the shoot?
Joey Minx: Uh… I need a second. (smiles) Do you know what you’re going to say?
Sinn Sage: Um… what was challenging…? Uh…. For me… pfft…. Nothing was really too challenging.
Joey Minx: No.
Sinn Sage: I’d say the only thing that is always really challenging is, like, watching my hair—
Joey Minx: (laughs)
Sinn Sage: —so it’s not in the way. (laughs)
Joey Minx: Logistics.
Sinn Sage: Yeah, logistics! Like—
Joey Minx: Yeah….
Sinn Sage: —yeah, like, nothing emotionally or sexually…. (laughs)
Joey Minx: No. Yeah, I have to agree. I didn’t really find anything super challenging about the shoot.
Sinn Sage: Yeah, it was nice, and an easy flow, and—
Joey Minx: Mm-hm.
Sinn Sage: I guess I’m hoping that I was being as rough with you as you wanted…?
Joey Minx: (nods) Mm, you were.
Sinn Sage: (laughs, relieved) Okay, good!
Joey Minx: (laughs)
(cut)
Joey Minx: So, Sinn, have you done porn before? (laughs)
Sinn Sage: (grins) Once or twice…. (laughs) Um… I continue to do porn as long as porn will have me, because, for me it’s really…. (sighs) I’ve always appreciated expressing myself in this way, I feel like it’s a really… I don’t know, visceral way of communicating a deep part of who you are to the world. And I love performing, and I love acting, and I love doing all that stuff, so, like, for me it was really natural to get into this… but I think I keep doing it because of that constant, like, discovery, and that expression… because it’s more than just acting and playing a character. It’s really, like, finding something in you and saying to the world “Here, take it. Look at it. Do with it what you will.” And I like that.
Joey Minx: (nods)
Sinn Sage: Like, I’m such an open person, and so for me, like, I’m not afraid at all to just, like, let it all hang out… and I’ve noticed that it’s really— it really affects other people, so a lot of the feedback I get is always really, really positive, from… mostly women, who, maybe, used to feel like, really ashamed and closed off, and scared of everything, and they then tell me, you know, “Well, you helped me, you’re like a role model”, like “I don’t have to be like that. I don’t have to be ashamed, I don’t have to be afraid”, and all this stuff, and I’m like “Fuck yeah!”. That’s my goal with the world! I want to, like… if I’m leaving a mark on this planet, it’s like… I just don’t want people ever to feel that they have to be ashamed or afraid of who they are.
Joey Minx: Mm-hm.
Sinn Sage: And I feel like doing porn is a really nice way to get that across. (smiles)
Joey Minx: (nods) Yeah.
Sinn Sage: So, your experience in porn?
Joey Minx: Um, yeah… I’ve done some porn before, mostly like for hairy fetish sites, and a lot of, like, solo stuff, um… but I really enjoy doing porn kind of, similar to what you said, I think it’s a really powerful space to be in, and to be choosing that vulnerability and to be exhibiting yourself in this way that’s… creating, like, this product to give to people that… just existing in that space and knowing that other people are enjoying it is something that really appeals to me.
Sinn Sage: Yes.
Joey Minx: Like, I’m an exhibitionist, and I like the idea of people getting off to watching me fuck. (smiles)
Sinn Sage: Hell, yeah! (laughs)
Joey Minx: Yeah, and I think it’s been something that’s been really good for me and, like, really good for, um… you know, like, being… being hairy or whatever and having that space of being proud of your body and—
Sinn Sage: (nods) Yeah.
Joey Minx: —and being comfortable with that, like you were saying, and um, yeah, and being a queer person and having the opportunity to express that and having that documented and be into… art, I guess, is, like special—
Sinn Sage: (nods) Yeah. Totally art. It’s really empowering.
Joey Minx: Mm-hm.
Sinn Sage: And I also feel, too, that a lot of people think that it—or say that it makes people feel bad, or bad about their bodies or something, like in… I don’t know, for me, it’s always made me feel better about my flaws or whatever, like, I might look at myself and judge my body in this way or that way, but then… nobody ever says anything to me about it, like on the set or on the Internet or whatever, so it’s just, like, they only say nice things to me, and I feel like, “Well, yeah, fuck thinking that way”, like, you know… I feel like it actually makes me feel better about myself now, not worse.
Joey Minx: Yeah.
Sinn Sage: And I hope that I can help other people feel better about themselves too.
Joey Minx: (nods) Yeah.
Sinn Sage: (smiles) What are your safe sex practices, and why?
Joey Minx: Um, I enjoy kink in my personal life, and I guess, like, the protocol used for safer sex is more… usually, like, establishing a safeword and, like, negotiating boundaries and… um, finding out what people are into, and I really enjoy knowing what people like, and going for that and, um, also knowing what people don’t like, and having it be, like, consensual or consensual non-consent, um—
Sinn Sage: (grins) Yeah, I love that!
Joey Minx: (smiles) Yeah, me too!
(both laugh)
Joey Minx: Yeah, because I really enjoy, like, being beat up and spat on, like, called a dirty faggot and… you know, but I want people to talk about it first and stuff…
Sinn Sage: Yeah!
Joey Minx: So, yeah… that’s what I would say my safe sex practices are. Getting tested, seeing what other people’s boundaries are, like, with barriers and that kind of thing.
Sinn Sage: Mm-hm.
Joey Minx: What about you? What are your safe sex practices?
Sinn Sage: (laughs) I mean, uh… being involved in the industry, I get tested often, if not once a month, then every… you know, I’ve been tested once a month for at least the past six or seven years.
Joey Minx: Mm-hm.
Sinn Sage: Recently, I’m working less so I don’t have to do it as often, but I’ve also been monogamous, like, almost I’d say… 98% monogamous my whole life, for the most part, I mean except for porn, but then we’re all tested and, like, uh… couple years ago, when I left my ex and I got in with… I dated around, but I used condoms. (smiles)
Joey Minx: Yeah.
Sinn Sage: And then, when I got with my new boyfriend, it was like we used condoms until he got tested. I mean, we were totally in love and stuff, but I was like “No. You have to go and get tested. This is my job, this is my life, this is other people’s lives.” And I trusted him, totally trusted him, but… testing. That’s just—
Joey Minx: It’s good to do!
Sinn Sage: —the best thing, yeah.
Joey Minx: I mean, your status is important.
Sinn Sage: Yeah. And… yeah, that’s pretty much it.
(cut)
Sinn Sage: Everything that I feel I wanna say about porn I said previously… in the interview. (smiles)
Joey Minx: Yeah. I… I feel the same way about porn. I really enjoyed working with you—
Sinn Sage: Yeah!
Joey Minx: —I had a really fantastic time, and—
Sinn Sage: Yeah.
Joey Minx: Yeah. It was great.
Sinn Sage: It was really nice to work with you because, usually, I work with… a certain type of person, you know?
Joey Minx: Mm-hm.
Sinn Sage: Obviously, being LA and stuff, and I am not necessarily always only into that type of person, so I enjoyed being able to come up here and ex— well, not explore, but embrace that side of myself more?
Joey Minx: Mm-hm.
Sinn Sage: In San Francisco.
(both laugh)
Sinn Sage: And so I really appreciated that about you, and um… yeah. Just… how I think porn is really empowering, and I think it’s beautiful, and I think it’s art, and I love to see the connection between people, and I hate to see people constantly talking shit about it. (laughs)
Joey Minx: (nods) Being ashamed about it.
Sinn Sage: Yeah… shame. I hate that.
Joey Minx: Mm-hm.
Sinn Sage: And, like, Miley Cyrus… just leave her alone. She’s just expressing herself and growing up and everyone’s, like, shaming her… like, fuck that.
Joey Minx: Yeah.
Sinn Sage: She’s awesome. (laughs)
Joey Minx: Yeah. She’s… (laughs) something.
Sinn Sage: (giggles) Let her do her thing. “Leave Miley alone!”
(both laugh)
Joey Minx: Yeah. Except stop twerking, Miley.
Sinn Sage: (laughing) Yeah, best not do that, okay?
(both laughing; laughter erupts behind camera)
(end)
