What did you like about the shoot today?
Ramses Rodstien:
The thing that I liked the best about the shoot today was it felt very safe. I felt, um, like a lot of the redesign of the set was really thought out to let loose and have a good time. In these strange times that we’re in right now. So, um, I appreciate that.
It was also kind of cool having four cameras kinda looking at you (laughs) so you kinda had a chance to – a chance to find a way to play with the cameras as well. It kinda felt like I was having fun with myself but also with four robots in the compu- in the room. So it was kinda cool.
Shine: What was challenging about the shoot?
Ramses: The most challenging thing was just losing your sense of time because, you know, you don’t have folks that you’re reading body language from. That was the only challenging part. It is my first solo shoot. I was just trying to make sure I was giving the camera enough time to adjust to my changes of movements. But I felt like there was so much coverage it wasn’t really a thing that I needed to worry about.
Shine: What are your safer sex practices, and why?
Ramses: (Laughs) Well my favorite safer sex practices are always gloves and I choose to use gloves with partners and also with myself because… you know, I have a lot of cuts on my hand and I just want to keep things safe so that my hands can heal and also prevent getting stuff up in my junk. (Laughs) But gloves are always my favorite go-to. It almost feels strange to not have them. Condoms, I love to use on all of my dicks because it just makes clean-up a lot easier. And it just, um feels safer to me especially because as much as you want to clean those realistic cocks they’re very porous so I like the condom to keep the health of my junk good.
Shine: Why do you continue to do porn?
Ramses: I continue to do porn because it’s a form of creative expression for me it’s a place where I really get to be myself and be in a place where I can just show a lot of pleasure and I feel like folks like myself and people who are part of my community we’re often told in society that we don’t deserve pleasure, we don’t deserve these things — this is one space where I feel like we can prove that wrong. We do. We do deserve pleasure. We do deserve respect. We deserve love. Porn is a form of expression for me to tell that story and to show that experience. So I continue to do it because it is one of the most liberating practices, for me.
Shine: What has been the best thing about quarantine?
Ramses: I think the best thing about quarantine has been the opportunity to rest. We live in a society – a capitalist society – that’s like, you got to produce, produce, produce… and like it really forced us to reevaluate what was important and I – I enjoyed quarantine because I got to stay at home and fortunately my job still paid me and I got to spend way more time with my partner and share more time that I don’t usually get to share because I’m always working three different hustles. It was a moment for me to just finally rest. That was probably the best part of quarantine.
Shine: Closing statement? Anything that you’d like to say about today? Or porn in general?
Ramses: Hmm… I know quarantine can be hard for a lot of people. And it is scary, living in a pandemic. Don’t forget to find those moments to find joy and always be safe and, you know take this time to really learn and figure out what brings you pleasure especially when we’re not seeing too many people or not able to share space with a lot of people this is really a time to look inward and find what pleases you and explore those things.
