I have been shooting queer porn for almost 6 years now. I also was a video reviewer for an adult toy company and was very familiar with the anti-fisting policies many companies have. Obscenity prosecution comes down to “local” standards of decency so physical retailers are a bit more conservative in terms of what they will carry especially if they happen to reside in a more conservative area. Producers have to take this into consideration when thinking about where and who will and can buy their product.

Most companies are looking for the highest distribution, so will err on the side of caution. With the internet, the laws are a bit more flexible and accommodating to fisting (pun intended) since the definition of community standard is wider. When it comes to fisting and the law, wider is better. As most of you know by know, there aren’t any hard and fast legal rulings on fisting, but there is a huge financial one (mainly in the shape of lawyers fees if in fact you happen to have the hammer dropped on you). I won’t get too much into how archaic the and conveniently ambiguous the law is regarding the definition of obscenity, but it’s origins stem from the Comstock Law (1873) which targeted pornography (a second class citizen when it comes to the 1st Amendment) and various methods of contraception. Basically, it’s been a long, hard road that the pornographer, and citizens looking for accurate information on sexual health, have traveled.

Fisting happens to be an activity I thoroughly enjoy if done properly. I really enjoy doing online work for sites like my work here on CrashPad, where there is more freedom to express yourself sexually. I have also done fisting for some DVD based companies, but it tends to get edited out. So I have had to get a bit creative over the years, improving and modifying techniques to achieve the similar effect that fisting can provide (fullness, pressure, deep down fucking). Here’s a list of 5 different techniques I have used, instead of fisting…

1. The Fishtail or “Noodling”
If you have seen Superfreak or Champion, then you might recognize this one. Basically, you put four fingers in from each hand so that your palms are facing each other (prayer position). Mimicking a wave-like motion, keeping your palms and fingers pressed together, you wiggle your hands wrist to fingertip.

2. Jaws of Life
This is a variation of the 8 fingers in where instead of facing palm to palm, you cross your hands at the wrist, having your hands back to back. You gradually pull your hands apart, maintaining equal distance between the opposing backs of the hands and fingers. The intention is to open them up slowly. You can add more variations to this by also pulling your hands slowing out of their hole too.

3. Footing
Hmm probably self explanatory, but it’s using the foot instead of the fist. Same rules apply with technique: patience, lube, well manicured nails and fun! Also a fun fact is that most peoples legs tend to be stronger than their arms so you can go longer and harder with your tootsies. If you are a foot fetishist, it’s a two for one!

4. Deep Vaginal/Anal Massage
There’s plenty of literature on this which you should research, vaginal and anal massages, but basically taking slow, deep, and heavy pressure movements against the inner walls, working out knots and tension. Like any other type of massage, it’s about relaxation and working away the tension.

5. Toys
There are plenty of great, large size toys on the market that are fist-sized and bigger. One of my personal favorites is the Njoy 11. It’s a bit less flexible than flesh, but the smooth, hard still will never let you down and if you are flying solo, it’s the way to go. (Note: if you are actually flying, you need to put it in your checked baggage since it is about 2 lbs and could be used as a weapon, but then again so could my hands.)
