Blair: What if anything, was challenging about the shoot today?
Icona: I think just, you know, outside stress, there’s a lot of life happening right now.
Blair: – Yeah
Icona: but, you know, it was a case where I knew that once we got here on the bed, started doing our stuff, that all of that would fade away. And it did.
Blair: Yeah.
Icona: – How about you, my love?
Blair: The only thing that was, that I was concerned about was, that, like, my arms would get a little bit… Would, like, start to fall asleep or something, but, they didn’t. Not at all. Yeah.
Icona: – Yay. That’s a success.
Blair: You done good.
Icona: So did you.

Blair: So what are your, our, safer sex practices?

Icona: I mean aside from the obvious like safe words using protection or being — and being — fluidly conscious. You know, I feel like that’s sort of the big thing.
Blair: – Right.
Icona: Especially, you know, when you’re a couple of fun-loving trans poly girls, you get into business in all sorts of places. And I know I can speak from experience that if you aren’t safe, you can get something.

Blair: Yeah.
Icona: How about you?

Blair: Well, I think the only thing that I should add is, you know, we make sure that we’re always checking in with each other. We’re always making sure that we’re, you know, both beginning, during
and after every scene. There’s a safe word, even if I’m gagged.

Icona: Yeah.

Blair: And I would say that, you know, it’s especially important as a… as a, member of a community that tends to get looked down upon. It is important not just for us, but in a way also sort of just so that anyone who sees knows that we’re doing this consensually that we’re doing this. You know, we’re – we that we’re doing this consensually and that we’re doing, and we’re doing this knowing that it can stop at any time.

Icona: Yeah. I mean, for me, it’s incredibly important for similar reasons. I feel like, for me, kink is a way to exercise – this is kinda a little deep – but to exercise trauma. You know, we echo all sorts of things that have happened to us in a way and in an environment that feels safe. And that’s the difference is when you have those safe words, when you have those barriers, when you have those protections, it it becomes a safe place to experience these more or less safe experiences, and it allows you to get lost in it a little bit, knowing that you’re safe with the person you’re with.

Blair: Yes.

Icona: Why do you keep doing porn, babe?

Blair: I like performing on camera. I like performing in general. And to be able to, express this particular aspect of myself, in a way that resonates with people in a way that, that people can connect with, that is that’s probably the biggest reason. It’s also very fun. And how about you? Why do you continue?

Icona: I mean, same same same. You know, I… I feel like I enjoy performing as well, and I love sex and just doing fun stuff like this, and to be able to combine the both is pretty great. And, I feel like it also destigmatize a little bit because, you know, I work as an actor outside of doing porn, and there’s a lot of stigma in my career that you don’t do porn unless you’re a failed actor. And it’s like, well, no, you can be quite well – you can do quite well as an actor and do porn at the same time, because neither one of them are less respectable than the other.
