Anyone else like to play music while they watch? The episodes are awesome by themselves, but sometimes I like to add my own soundtrack. I'm an indie/alternative person.

Here's a couple songs/bands I like to play in the background:
    friendly fires - skeleton boy.
    metric - collect call.
    mgmt
    midnight juggernauts
    the killers - human
    the knife - heartbeats
    tv on the radio
    goldfrapp

My soundtrack is a little of this and a little of that, the music I play really depends on my mood.
    Tami Chynn-over and over
    The Airborn Toxic Event
Michael Franti-Say hey I love you
    Def Leopard
MMM Whatcha Say-(this is really recent)
    Jay Shawn-Down
    Drake-the best I ever Had
Jowel Y Randy-Casa de Los Leones
    Pitbul
    Regina Spektor
the list goes on and on.....

I'll play this game! I may be a big enough dork to actually have a playlist for this... *cough* Music with driving beats, and a building forward momentum is good for this sort of thing.

    Adult - New object
PFFR - Total dicks ; I like it hard ; feels like $
    Aphex Twin - Windowlicker
Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs - black tounge
PJ Harvey - Rub till it bleeds
    Bongwater - Power of pussy
Coh + Cosey Fanni Tutti - mad ; near you ; fuck it

You can see how this is going. Would the fine folks at pink and white appreciate music mixes? 'Cause i'd totally send one.

  4. I'm LOVING these playlists!

mud_and_fire, thanks for your offer to send stuff -- you know we couldn't legally use it though, unless we had permission from the musicians and their record label. :-)

This reminds me of one of the earlier threads, which is now long buried, where members were talking with Shine about whether or not to have music in the scenes. The end result was that people thought natural sounds were hot and needed to be able to hear them. So we went with no music. (Which then is great to be able to add your own!)

If you go back to Episodes 1-3 I think, you'll hear the early versions with music in them. I believe Shine did the music herself, as obtaining rights to music that fits the mood is very difficult.

    Off to look up "Bongwater",
    J

I honestly just meant a mix for you to listen to, not one to score the videos with. With all that you so generously share with us, the viewing audience, the least i can do is share music.

I definitely prefer the natural sounds, and i can only imagine the nightmare it would be to get rights for music. It's pretty awesome that Shine did music too for earlier videos, i didn't know that.

I hope you tracked down Bongwater, they are so wonderful.

Einstuerzende Neubaten and The Reeks and the Wrecks. i have an Einstuerzende cd and there is a myspace page with a few Reeks songs. there is a Reeks vinyl recording available online, but i don't have a turntable. a musician's mix of these two instrumental innovators would make a great porn soundtrack.

  9. I'd suggest "Entry of the Gladiators" by Julius Fucik or "The Sabre Dance" by Aram Khachaturian. ;-P
